This Cathedral was a treat to visit. It reminded me of European travels. It is amazing to have something of such age and significance in the United States. I'm grateful that it has been preserved in the Monterey Community. There are several benches outside and beautiful statues.

Gorgeous, fully renovated chapel with a great priest during Christmas services. Beautiful vintage decorations, really lovely grounds and popular school.

Beautifully maintained as a historic and continually functioning worship space. I feel as though we see into the past as we look up close at the walls: certain small areas of the current interior walls are exposed and re-covered with transparent plexiglass for viewing the original painted designs. I wonder how they created and colored such paint in the 1700s? I'm guessing they used local resources, including plants, for the pigments?

We had arrived to the church a little late, and they were already full by the time mass started. I just wish the church was bigger for the people. We had to stand outside in the rain, which wasn’t too bad. Never got to see the inside but overall the mass itself was nice.

They have speakers outside for when mass is too large to fit inside. Sermon was bilingual the Sunday we visited. For the non-religious it is still a very pretty church to check out.

First time came to this beautiful church, it was one of the kinds and warm. Parishioners were very welcome and friendly even the priest also was kind and funny. What a beautiful church.
